President’s Message

Over 60 years ago, the Western Trial Lawyers Association (“WTLA”) was founded by some of the best trial lawyers in the country with a simple goal – to create an organization comprised of plaintiff trial lawyers dedicated to teaching others how to excel in the representation of their clients. This simple mission, and the networking and camaraderie that flows from these interactions, continues to drive WTLA today. Our annual education programs get rave reviews from attendees and always feature talented speakers from across the country sharing invaluable winning strategies, professional insight, and practice tips in a causal yet invigorating environment with the universal goal of helping attendees to provide the best possible representation to plaintiffs across the country. No matter your level of experience, all attendees leave each WTLA seminar with a wealth of new ideas, practice tips and case strategies.

I am ecstatic to be WTLA President for 2023-2024 and want to personally invite you to join WTLA at both of our upcoming travel seminars.  Our 2023 ski seminar which is being held on February 28- March 3, 2024 at the beautiful Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. In June 2024, we will return to the amazing Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea on the beautiful island of Maui. Both programs will feature a “quick hit” style program, with each presentation lasting approximately 15 minutes – an excellent way to maximize learning opportunities.

As an IRS 501(c)(3) organization, WTLA does not engage in any political fundraising or lobbying. Instead WTLA focuses solely on education and relationship building to help members best represent their clients. And WTLA very proudly continues with concerted efforts to ensure its seminars feature the highest quality speakers who also represent the rich diversity and experience of the plaintiffs’ bar.
